Saratoga Springs July 2017
It’s rare that we get an adults only trip to WDW. But we had an opportunity, found cheap flights and spent 3 nights in the Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. Our flight got in early morning and we were at the resort and in our room by 10am. Our goal was to spend Friday at Paddock Pool, visit Epcot on Saturday eating and drinking in every country and then spend Sunday recovering before an early Monday flight home. We followed the plan exactly.
Our second floor room was a deluxe studio in the Paddock area with a nice water view. The room, as expected, was lovely and clean. Saratoga Springs is a sprawling resort with beautiful gardens, large pools and close to Disney Springs shopping and food options. The Paddock pool has a quick service restaurant that also serves beer wine and some cocktails. The food options include burgers, salads and even BBQ pork belly. For children there is a large gated water play area, the best on property in my view. With a drink refill station on the pool deck this is a great location to land for the day.
The other feature pool is near the indoor quick service restaurant “Artist Pallet”. Here you can get a great breakfast, flatbreads, sandwiches and salads. A small store and resort check in is all here. The building is called the Carriage House. For those looking for a more relaxed space there are three quiet pools. The spa, fitness center, arcade and community hall are all located near the Carriage House. Boat service and walkways are options for accessing Disney Springs.
